Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 will do 0-60 in just 1.66 seconds

The 2023 Challenger SRT Demon 170, a production car so quick it can even show a Tesla Model S Plaid a clean pair of shoes with a 1.66 second 0-60 mph time, is the genuine beginning of the end for the automobile industry.

The Demon 170 performs best when run on E85, which is a mixture of 85% ethanol and 15% gasoline. On this fuel, the Demon 170 produces a whopping 1,025 horsepower (764 kW) and 945 lb-ft of torque (1,281 Nm).

The engine's output on more prevalent E10 gasoline is a gentler 900 horsepower (671 kW) and 810 lb-ft (1,098 Nm).

The Demon 170 is incredibly speedy at the drag strip thanks to these upgrades. It can run the quarter-mile in 8.91 seconds elapsed time with a speed across the line of 151.17 mph (243 km/h),

which is faster than a Model S Plaid, which can run the quarter-mile in just under two seconds at the drag strip, according to certification from Dodge and the National Hot Rod Association.

Dodge received a letter of violation from the National Hot Rod Association for running a sub-9 second quarter-mile time without a rollcage or parachute.
